Those commands as you've typed them will not work, try **PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%** instead.

I was getting the same error message as the screenshot above in Proton 5.0. After updating to the new 5.13, the game launches! I have not came across any issues so far :)

I didn't type them I put them in the `user_settings.py` as instructed in the Runtime Config Options of the readme. I've successfully used this method before. I'm not passing arguments via the steam launcher at the moment...
