... essentially "softlocks." Since the game uses DX10/11 using PROTON_USE_WINED3D leads to significant artifacting, and is essentially unplayable.

    Suffering the same issue here, tried proton 6.0-7 too witch most people say it will make the game work but so fat I've tried experimental, 9, 8 ,7 and 6.x versions and they all seem to crash in the startup cutscene sadly
