The game crashes when entering CAS. I noticed multiple errors related to vkd3d. I made a post on the Proton issues page, but I also figured to post an issue here to see what the issue is being caused by.

Simply start a new game, click through all of the dialogue and the game will attempt to load into CAS. The game will crash however when attempting to display the CAS screen.

The developers have stated a patch is in the works to improve playability on Steam Deck, but how long the patch will be in development for is unknown.

Hi there and thank you for the issue.
I did some quick poking at this crash earlier and concluded that it doesn't seem to be a vkd3d-proton problem. The game crashes the same with upstream vkd3d and when using vkd3d-proton on Windows it starts fine.
I have handed it over to Proton QA to get a lookover by someone with proper debugging skills

As of the latest Proton Hotfix update, MySims Kingdom doesn’t crash on CAS anymore :) Thanks for passing this onto Proton QA :) @Blisto91
