does the game use up all your VRAM after an hour by any chance?
No, thats it i used NVTOP to measure NVRAM and it uses max 5GB or 5000MB my Card has 8GB
Also on MangoHUD the same.
Heres a Screen of NVRam Usage after about 1 Hour Gameplay ( Charakter stays in Silvermoon City where many Players are)
Now i have captured a short time Video.
See the FPS down right side drops to around 30fps and goes up to 60fps.
Here i have played only about 10 Minutes and the Stuttering appears.
NVRam at this time is 3460MB.
Cant upload Video mp4 here so heres a link:
https://streamable.com/p7r9l2
It expires in 2 days but i can upload it again.
:Edit:
During the Stuttering i changed Ingame the Graphicinterface from DirectX12 to DirectX11 and the Stuttering is gone.
As a long time WoW player on Linux, I can suggest 2 things to try:
use protonplus to install wine-staging 11.4 tkg patched variant, and turn-off e and fsync (use mangohud winesync option to confirm that ntsync is now being used). Also in protonplus, install dxvk 2.7.1 and the vkd3d-proton 3.0b version. Select these in lutris (I have had an issue with lutris when I change wine versions where I need to reinstall bnet. Always keep the WoW files outside the wine prefix, makes life easier).
Check the addons you are using - I had very similar issues to your video which were specific to that location you showed (the whole area there and Ardenweald is treated as Liquid so lowering your Liquid detail settings in game is another option to try for that spedifically). Start by disabling all the addons - for me Details and WQAchievements were the issue - strange cause like you no issues in dx11.
As any FYI I use a 4070 ti or a 9070 xt and would see the same issues - especially riding into the Oribos from the portal area or flying from Dorn portals to the AH. These work for me at least with Midnight, though I can reproduce many stutters on Win 11 on both GPU's which is what lead me to check the addons.
EDIT: ok so I can reproduce this on Kubuntu 25.10 with VKD3D-PROTON 3.0b, but I can not reproduce on Nobara (latest updates KDE). Strange thing is I get it in DXVK as well on Kubuntu - 9070xt
I have updated Lutris now to vdk3d-proton 3.0b running with Wine-Proton-11.0-beta1 from Kron4ek Wine Build Vanilla
I test it now ...
We will see
I use now Wine-Proton-11.0-beta1 from Kron4ek with vkd3d 3.0
I also used vkd3d-proton 3.0b that crashes with Access Violation on Memory.
But i cant say at this moment if it works, have to play more.
Right now i use Wine-Proton-11.0-beta1-amd64-wow64 with vkd3d 3.0 (without Proton) no issues till now in World of Warcraft.
:Update: I have played today a longer Time and the Issue is back again also with vkd3d 3.0 and Wine-Proton-11.0-beta1
:Update2: Also with disabled Addons in World of Warcraft.
:Update3: Its very often in the Raid Instance Amirdrassil (i mean the Issue)
I have played now a while with Wine-Proton-11.0-beta1-amd64-wow64 and vkd3d-proton 3.0b with the newest Nvidia Drivers 580.159.03
Cant tell that i have any issue, the Stuttering is gone.
Today i try the same config with vkd3d-proton-3.0.1
I was happy too soon, the Issue is back, but it wasn't until I played my druid again that I can't say if that's the problem.
vkd3d-proton-3.0.1
Wine-Proton-11.0-beta1-amd64-wow64
Nvidia Drivers 580.159.03
Just to confirm, you are not using gamescope, right?
No Lutris to Start Battle.net and then World of Warcraft
I have played now a while and have disabled "Nvidia Reflex" Ingame and i think that was the Issue with vkd3d-proton and DX12
I have played now a week without Issues if Nvidia Reflex is disabled in WoW.
vkd3d-proton-3.0.1
Wine-Proton-11.0-beta1-amd64-wow64
Nvidia Drivers 580.159.03
Ok its really safe to say the stuttering is from activated Nvidia-Reflex in World of Warcraft. I have played now several Hours without FPS drops (stuttering).
vkd3d-proton-3.0.1
Wine-Proton-11.0-beta1-amd64-wow64
Nvidia Drivers 580.159.03

Please describe your issue as accurately as possible. Include screenshots or videos if relevant
If i play World of Warcraft i get Frame Drops after a while of playing sometimes several Hours sometimes after 1 Hour its completly random.
The Framerate Drops to 20 FPS then goes up to 60 FPS and so on. Only a restart of World of Wacraft can fix this.
If i have the issue again i try to make a Video.
The Problem is only with DirectX12 which uses VKD3D, with DirectX11 i have no issues.
Also i have this Issue not only with Wine-Staging 11.2, i tested several GE-Proton Versions 9.4 upwards thats the same as Wine-Staging 11.2.
