When starting the Game Farever on Steam my Gpu resets. I first thought it was a mesa driver or new linux kernel issue but it persisted when i downgraded to mesa 26.1 and 26.0 and also with Linux kernel 7.0.

After further testing i found that the issue seems to be somewhere in vkd3d because it says something about it in the logs and it works with Proton Version 10.0-4 but resets with proton experimental, Proton 11 Beta, custom cachyos versions and Proton Ge 10-34.

So it seems to be some kind of regression.

I have so far not been able to reproduce this issue.
This is on a 7900 XTX with a week old mesa-git. Proton Bleeding Edge

Rrunar-work 2026-05-18 github

I've also been unable to reproduce this so far with RX 7600 on Arch Linux with Proton Experimental, Proton 11, Proton GE 10-34, 7.0.8-arch1-1, 7.1.0-rc4-1-cachyos-rc, Mesa main 0a6816d8 from today and same Mesa build as in the original report.

I right now tried it again with Proton GE 10-34 and 7.1.0-rc2-273-tkg-eevdf-llvm-ga293ec25d59d and mesa build with commit 3f8a083f28a and it still does a GPU reset.
