By opening this issue, I confirm that:
Description and steps to reproduce
Description
Uncharted 4 (u4.exe, Steam AppID 1659420) reproducibly hangs in gameplay after about 5 minutes. The picture freezes, audio keeps playing, the game does not react to input. The same spot (prison chapter) hangs every time.
The kernel logs an Xid and vkd3d-proton reports device loss:
Channel number varies between runs (0x20-0x23), class is always c7c0.
Workaround that fixes it:
VKD3D_CONFIG=no_upload_hvv. With it I played well over an hour including the prison section and the next chapter, DLSS on and higher settings, with no Xid. Some FPS drops in cutscenes (not measured).System

What did NOT help
Notes
I also had a separate hang at the loading screen with no Xid (all game threads in futex_wait, GPU idle). I'm not sure whether it is related.
I can provide a full PROTON_LOG=1 VKD3D_DEBUG=warn log of a hang without the workaround if useful.
