Update: Doesn't crash anymore with latest git-master builds of vkd3d-proton & radv on linux 5.10.7. amdvlk-open however still crashes.
I wonder if this should be closed, as amdvlk-open seems to be a kernel crash generator in general as of lately (at least on RDNA2).
@aufkrawall Hi there.
Are you still having this issue with amdvlk?
amdvlk crashes and hangs even with the testsuite, and in general doesn't run any game well with vkd3d-proton, I think this can probably be closed.
Probably yes since technically only RADV is officially supported (well actually readme just says RADV is recommended). But i'll let the devs decide that, if it's still an issue even.
@aufkrawall Another friendly ping
Thanks for being committed to open issues, but let's just close this (if nobody objects).
Nothing extracted yet.
I hope someone can reproduce who is more versatile in the arts of debugging hangs/driver crashes, as the issue really seems to be that easy to reproduce: It always instantly crashes while loading a level with both recent RADV and AMDVLK versions (Linux 5.9 & 5.10) on the RX 5700 XT. On Polaris, only AMDVLK crashed, whereas RADV didn't. It crashes on Windows as well.
You might also get into a nasty crash loop due to RAS. D3D11 DXVK is fine.
