Symptoms

1. Game flashes a black screen and then crashes

Reproduction

1. Press Play button in Steam
2. Status changes to Launching
3. Black screen appears for about 1 second and then closes

Notes:
This game uses the Yaga game engine which is fairly rare with 5 releases between 2002-2003.

Game is able to launch if the system has a CD-ROM drive installed, for those without one (including Steam Deck/Steam Machine) the game will crash. This issue also occurs on Windows.
