Hello again @johanfruiter, with games run with Proton, we're using one issue report per unofficially supported game title, so I've gone ahead and transferred this issue report to https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/10225#issuecomment-6124244740.

Hi, I downloaded Transport Fever 3 last week. First I could play it without a problem. After a couple of days TF3 wanted to update the program and started downloading a long time. After that I was not able to start TF3 anymore. The program produced a popup window with the text ' Could not initialize user profile backend' I searched all the logfiles but there are no messages referring to this error. What can I do?
