Compatibility Report

The complete build-a-lot series parts 1 through 4 have screen swiping issues. The screen swipe is very slow on Proton, it takes a minute on Proton where it only takes a second on Windows or WINE.

Using 3.7-7 Beta the slow screen transition issue is fixed. However the game throttles the CPU very hard.

sorry to necro, but this appears to have regressed using more modern proton builds

In my testing, I found that the speed of the transition seems to be based on the screen resolution. Windows sets the screen resolution smaller, which makes the transition faster. Proton, on the other hand, doesn't change the screen resolution, but if you set the resolution lower, then the game will transition similarly.

@janosthebrave Could you retest with a lower monitor resolution and see if that matches up for you? Also attach a gist and logs if the issue persists.
