Got this log running: PROTON_LOG=1 steam and launching NBA 2K18.
Running Steam Beta it's the same, cannot connect to 2K server.
err:winediag:gnutls_initialize failed to load libgnutls, no support for encryption looks like a line of interest in the log.
Opted into Steam client beta?: [No]
Launch NBA 2K18, with proton 3.7-6.
Out of curiosity, how is it possible to launch a game with Proton 3.7-6 Beta if the OP has not joined the Steam Beta program?
Also, every game launched via Steam Play that has no working network should be redirected/referred to/mentioned here: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/162
@kisak-valve Since Steam Play games with no networking seems to be a trend, how about pinning it on the main page?
I've been on steam beta, so that's why I'm using proton beta.
I reverted back to investigate the connection problem.
Now I see there are lots of people who are experiencing the same issue, it's not related to 2K server.
Thank you for pointing me there.
It seems to be aa issue for all NBA 2k titles - i can confirm the same issue for 2k14 and 2k17 with proton 3.16-4.
Probably Wine 4.1 includes a fix for this bug:
