Hi @kisak-valve
I wasn't sure if I should put Demo in the title, because maybe other contributors would search and see Demo. And then go off and make a new report for the full-version, duplicating things, and causing more work for you to clean it up afterwards.

  • I see that you've appended the title with Demo so I assume that's what is wanted?
  • Should I, and we, even file a compatibility report for a demo? What's your view on that?

Hello @HonkingGoose, the reason I added Demo to the title was to be consistent with the appid.

I personally don't care one way or another, however, the easy example why a demo should be considered separate from the main game is Doom 2016's demo, which does not work while the full version is fine. I'm not going to summary close or merge between the two.

If there's differing behavior between the main game and a demo for it, that's probably the only real value to be found in tracking the demo variant. Also, if a demo does not work, that's a free test case.

Thanks for responding @kisak-valve.
So: unique appid for demo and main game.
Keep title consistent with appid, understood.

Filing a report on a demo is actually welcomed then, that's nice to know.
Thanks for the clarification on how a report on a demo version can help diagnose bugs.

Keep up the good work managing the issue tracker.
And thank you for the friendly tone of your response, its appreciated.
