Left 4 Dead launches fine and the menu and settings seem to function properly. Whenever joining a game or creating one, the game crashes to desktop during the loading process. This issue has been reported on Stean threads multiple times. Any information on how to resolve the crashing would be appreciated.

Hello @Hicks83, we're using one issue report per unofficially supported game title, so I've gone ahead and transferred this issue report to https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/406#issuecomment-422132795.
