this message and the whole screen are unclickable. only alt-f4 will exit.

Those commands as you've typed them will not work, try PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% instead.

I didn't type them I put them in the user_settings.py as instructed in the Runtime Config Options of the readme.

I've successfully used this method before. I'm not passing arguments via the steam launcher at the moment but it accomplishes the same result, just for all games.

I was getting the same error message as the screenshot above in Proton 5.0.
After updating to the new 5.13, the game launches! I have not came across any issues so far :)
