I just tried the game again and while the menu seems fine now after starting a new game it crashes just after the opening cinematic.

I tried running Shadows Peak through Proton and while it launches and allows me to play the control menu is bugged and doesn't display properly. The Steam AppID of the game is 359940. I added PROTON_LOG=1 %command% to the game's launch options and received the following log:
