Gish is actually a native Linux game, except the Linux version is not included with Steam:

I wonder why they don't just include the Linux version in steam. It shouldn't be difficult at all for them.

The Linux version is probably the same deal as with Torchlight 1. That was a Linux port funded entirely by Humble Bundle, Inc, and therefore is only licensed for distribution by them.
