When I start the game with Proton the intro logo is slow, gray, and pixelated. The logo does show up, but then the screen goes black, and I have to kill the process through a terminal. I did add the launch option so I can launch both versions, but they both have the same issue.

Hello @thedisputednewt, please copy your system information from steam (Steam -> Help -> System Information) and put it in a gist, then include a link to the gist in this issue report. Additionally, please add PROTON_LOG=1 %command% to the game's launch options and drag and drop the generated $HOME/steam-$APPID.log into the comment box.

Hi, the game is working for me if I launch the "normal" (I guess 32bit) version of the game, but not the 64bit Direct X11 version. I think what the problem the other user has is that the drivers aren't fully updated to the last mesa version.

How do you download mesa 18.3? I am using Manjaro, so it might not be out yet, but the only one I can find is 18.2.2.

You can change the launch options by right clicking on the name of the game in steam and hitting properties, and then launch options should be on the first tab.

@thedisputednewt 18.2.2 is latest stable. 18.3 is in development, you can install mesa-git from AUR if you really want it (assuming it works the same way in Manjaro as in Arch + and the usual warnings about breaking your X).
