I confirm:

  • [X] that I haven't found an existing compatibility report for this game (For this problem...)
  • [X] that I have checked whether there are updates for my system available.

Symptoms

On my external sound device (Focusrite Saffire 6 usb), using headphones, the sound of the game behaves as if it was set to 4.0 surround sound. Unfortunately Doom has no setting for the speaker configuration, and from the info I gathered around it seems like Doom tries to detect the speaker configuration automatically and set it accordingly. So I opened the prefix for Doom, and indeed it was set to 4.0 for my external card, and stereo for my onboard chip. Changing this setting to stereo for the external card has however no effect.

Reproduction

This seems to be a driver problem as I have the same problem in native titles too. The driver is missing a stereo mode for the sound device.

Nothing extracted yet.
