Hello @Skiski, please run ulimit -Hn and verify that it gives a high value and not 4096.
I have 4096. I've never heard of this command. I'm going to look what is does.
Thanks for checking, esync can need much more file descriptors than that allows and around a million is recommended. There's some documentation to help at https://github.com/zfigura/wine/blob/esync/README.esync.
Ok, I've increased the limit and now, I don't need to disable esync. Thanks for the tip, I think it will help with other games.

Symptoms
The game crashes after a minute or so. It happens whether I use my wired 360 gamepad or not. It can crash at death or during gameplay. It happens with every version of Proton I've tried. On Spcr, there are 4 reports about this game having no issue. I've tried many games with Proton and I haven't had any issue whatsoever.
It even crashes on title screen if you wait long enough (around 2min).
Using the PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 option seems to solve the problem.
This is the log file with esync enabled.

Reproduction
Just play the game for a few minutes with esync enabled.
