For me I couldn't play with the mouse plugged in, would aim upwards and keep firing (no response from mouse at all), with both my Steel Series 500 and my backup Logitech mouse. Worked fine when unplugging the mouse and using a Xbox One controller.
Edit: Managed to get it working with mouse, updated the kernel, reboot and it worked flawlessly.
Only hickup I found is that 144hz does not appear as an option for refresh rate so you cant force vsync to cap it at 144fps. Running it with vsync off went fine with my 144hz screen and fps reported above 100 on low settings.

Hello @arzardk, can you check if Proton 3.7-8 has the same behavior?
Also, with Proton 3.16-4, please add PROTON_LOG=1 %command% to the game's launch options and drag and drop the generated $HOME/steam-$APPID.log into the comment box.
