Symptoms

The game is stucked to the SQUARE ENIX boot screen.
Sorry didn't thought to make a log before downgrading. I have currently one but its size is over 6GB.

Reproduction

update nvidia drivers to 410.78 and start the game.

solved by downgrading to 410.73.

Same happens with NieR:Automata.

With driver v410.73 all fine, upgraded to 410.78, "No Graphic Memory" error at startup.

Solved by using beta driver v415.13

So, I noticed something. The game has one problem or the other.
If refresh rate is set to "fixed" in the options, which means 30 FPS lock, the loading times are extremely long. But apparently, after some search, it's also the case on Windows.
If it's set to "variable", on my 144hz setup at least, loading times are a LOT faster, BUT, the contextual menu that lets you talk to people or activate stuff flickers extremely fast, and pushing the button doesn't do anything. I couldn't find if this but exists on Windows too.
It seems like this portage is extremely bad though...

The game works fine with proton 7 but it has long load times with 8 / experimental on the steam deck with any branch.

Hello @NikoBellicRU, please add PROTON_LOG=1 %command% to the game's launch options, reproduce the regression, and attach the generated $HOME/steam-$APPID.log to this issue report as a file. (Proton logs compress well if needed.) Also, please copy your system information from Steam (Steam -> Help -> System Information) and put it in a gist, then include a link to the gist in this issue report.

I just started playing using vanilla Proton 9.0-3 - so far seems good. I already had FFXIII and FFXIII-2 previously, I remember some issues with display resolution before, but I verified a couple of days ago they both work great in Proton 9.0-2, so those of you who had difficulties before, I suggest you might want to revisit this with current Proton releases.

Edit: Played for a week with no crashes and no discernible issues. I understand the game on a technical level is a bit different from FFXIII and XIII-2.
