I cannot confirm this. On my system, the game simply opens to a black fullscreen borderless window and nothing happens.
Switching back to Proton 3.16-9 didn't help.
Hello @hzulla, please add PROTON_LOG=1 %command% to the game's launch options and drag and drop the generated $HOME/steam-$APPID.log into the comment box.
Thanks. Here it is. steam-711660.log
CHUCHEL works flawlessly once you install the 32bit vulkan drivers with sudo apt install mesa-vulkan-drivers:i386. If they are missing you start the game with a black window.
Hey @tercus, thank you, that did the trick. Chuchel now works for me.
@kisak-valve - maybe add this package to the installation requirements for Linux Steam?
Thanks again.
Hello @hzulla, the Steam for Linux client does not require or use Vulkan. Technically, you only need a OpenGL 2.0-like video card to run the client.
Proton on the other hand has always had this requirement and is currently documented at https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/wiki/Requirements#amdintel.
Thank you. Have to admit I missed that requirement when installing Proton.
Tested on most recent Proton version and the game works without any issues.
Play button in the Steam client is sufficient.

The game just works without any problem, straight out of the box.
