Log: steam-815370.log

Symptoms

In full-screen mode the mouse stops working in menus sometimes. Alt-tabbing results in mouse working in the menus but not in first person mode. The full-screen doesn't capture the mouse after alt-tabbing.

On some occasions the character starts spinning while looking up or down (when body-inspect and backpack were open together). Restarting the game fixes this.

Reproduction

I can reproduce the character spinning by going into the body-inspect view, opening the backpack and applying a bandage. Closing everything after that results in the character spinning because of high mouse sensibility.

That the mouse stops working in the menus just happens kind of random.

Reporting a bug that's on ProtonDB "Since version 1.03 of Green Hell you have to skip the tutorial to avoid the black screen bug."

HHanPrower 2020-08-10 github

The devs / community recommend that if you crash / black screen at the end of the tutorial that you install this: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/3145500/media-feature-pack-list-for-windows-n-editions

Does that make this a codec issue? The next thing that's meant to happen is a short video is played.

EDIT: mfplat.dll shows up in the proton log, so I guess that makes it a WMF issue?

I tried with Proton-5.9-GE-5-ST and the video after the tutorial worked.

Symptoms:

The controller cursor becomes invisible when accessing the inventory.

Reproduction

1- At any point in the game, press the LB or L1 button, depending on the model, on the controller.
2- Moving the right stick allows you to see the items in your backpack switch, but you cannot see the cursor pointer.

This makes crafting and using the items impossible.

Sorry about that. @kisak-valve

I wasn't sure where to post about this problem with the game.
Thank you for clarifying things for me. I have other reports to make, and now I know I can post them within the existing bug reports for the game in question.
