Reproduction

Just launch the game.

Nnsivov 2019-01-31 github

That's basically issue #2268. We can still have this one open until it's verified that game itself has no issues.

SShatrico 2019-02-16 github

for me with the new proton version uplay is running fine but the game gives me a black screen

Hhowels 2019-03-25 github

With Proton 3.16.8-beta this issue still occurs. Now we have uplay launching and updating and the game does launch but shows only a black screen when using PROTON_USE_WINED3D. Using PROTON_NO_D3D11 other any other combination of options simply results in the game instantly closing after uplay launches and triggers the main game exe file.

Hello @Shatrico, @howels, with Proton 3.16-8, can one of you add PROTON_LOG=1 %command% to the game's launch options and drag and drop the generated $HOME/steam-$APPID.log into the comment box.

Disabling "in-game overlay" which helps play in Assassins Odyssey didn't helps here.

This works with Lutris and 32-bit Vulkan with DXVK 1.0.1 (using either Wine 3.21 or 4.0) but produces a black screen in Steamplay with Proton 3.16-8.

Hhowels 2019-03-27 github

Using Proton 4.2-1 needed to manually trigger the proton download. Game quits to desktop when uplay overlay is disabled, with overlay a black screen and a hang.

Log attached with overlay disabled.

Looks like this game needs Media Foundation support.

Hhowels 2019-03-28 github

This game works when running from Lutris using Windows Steam via Wine 4.0 + DXVK. Is there a library in the Windows Steam client or is it present in Wine but missing from Proton?

Vvjr2 2019-03-30 github

Is there a way to auto-kill upc.exe when exit the game? It's quite annoying to kill it by the terminal/monitor every time you end an uplay game

Hhowels 2019-04-01 github

@vjr2 please look in the uplay settings and disable minimize to system tray.

Pptkato 2021-05-17 github

The game crashes every time I try to access the "graphics" in the options menu. My system information.

DDerRM 2023-01-22 github

@ptkato I can reproduce the issue on my steam deck. It seems to be an issue with the sound engine (Wwise audiokinetic) strangely enough. The game runs fine otherwise, just only crashes when trying to go into the graphics settings.

Log attached. Crash when entering "Graphics" in options menu.
