Symptoms

I have an arcade stick (Razer Panthera Evo Arcade Stick for PS4) that is properly recognized by the system, but not in the steam controller settings.
When I make any input on that device, the game crashes. This does not happen in native games or when I use proton 3.7-8. The controller works properly in proton 3.7-8, despite not being detected in steam.

I tried this with Tekken 7 and Ni No Kuni 2.

Reproduction

  1. Connect the controller
  2. Start a game using proton 4.2-2
  3. Push a button

Thanks for reporting. Could you gather another log, this time adding +dinput,+xinput,+hid,+hidp,+hid_report,+plugplay to the comma-separated WINEDEBUG list in your Proton installation's user_settings.py file? Let me know if you need more instructions than this.

Hi there. There has been a lot of controller work since Proton 4.2. Can you retry these games on 4.11-7 and see if you are still getting a crash with this gamepad?

Hi!
The good news: no more crashes.
The bad news is the controller does not work at all on 4.11-7 and steam also still does not detect it.
But it still works with version 3.7-8
