Compatibility Report

  • Name of the game with compatibility issues: TRIZEAL Remix
  • Steam AppID of the game: 465070

System Information

Distro: Linux Mint 19.1 Tessa (64 bit)
GPU: Vega 56
Driver/LLVM version: Mesa 19.1.0-devel/9.0.0
Kernel version: 5.0.10-050010-lowlatency
Proton version: 4.2-3

I confirm:

  • [x] that I haven't found an existing compatibility report for this game.
  • [x] that I have checked whether there are updates for my system available.

Symptoms

There seems to be a regression with Proton 4.2-3 there is no video, just a black screen but you can hear that music is playing and the game responds to the keyboard/controller. Launch option "PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%" does fix the video, but the performance is not as good.

With Proton 3.16-9 the game works perfectly and I did not spot any issues (no problems with the music resuming after pausing the game either (that was a problem with earlier proton versions)).

Including logs from both Proton versions:

Reproduction

Just launch the game.

System Information

  • GPU: RX VEGA 56
  • GPU Driver: 19.1.0+aco+git1565970353-650031018b4-1bionic1 (Valves PPA)

  • Distro version: Linux Mint 19.2 Tina (64 bit) (Cinnamon)
  • Proton version: 4.11-2

Retest Compatibility Report

With 4.11-2 the game works perfectly without issues with launch option "PROTON_USE_D9VK=1 %command%". Without D9VK there is no video, just a black screen (but there is sound).

  • Distro version: 19.3 Tricia (64 bit) (Cinnamon)

Retest Compatibility Report

Game works out of the box with recent Proton, no need for launch options.

✔ Nintendo Switch Pro Controller
✔ Good Performance
✔ No audio/graphics glitches

Practically the game is perfect on Proton, the one minor remaining issue is that Alt-Tab between fullscreen/desktop does not minimize the game. I suspect this is the same as on Windows but I'm unable to verify that.
