Same problems persist, game crashes after hitting new game from the main menu. Also the issue with the intro videos pausing when pressing a button remain. I also tested with and without D9VK.

To help the crash issue on new game one can run it with WINE_CPU_TOPOLOGY=8 %command% as it does not like systems with 10 or more logical cores. This is the same crash behavior as on Windows

Game crashes when starting "new game" from the main menu. Also if hitting any key while intro videos are playing the game pauses for 2 seconds and then proceeds playing the video (the videos are .bik (Bink Video)).

Note changing between Protons triggers a key reactivation.
Reproduction
launch the game > wait for the intro videos to play > select "new game" loading screen pops up and then the game crashes.
