Re-tested the game with Proton 4.2-7 and bleeding edge Mesa drivers, the problem still remains with game crashing without "-onethread" option.

I confirm that the problem still persists, with option "-onethread" the game works. Without it launches to a black screen and a window pops up with an error message "Fatal Error!"
Same issue here. Proton 5.13-4. -onethread is needed as a launch option , otherwise game crashes with Fatal Error warning.
Works out of the box with Proton 6.3-4, no additional launch options required. Completed base game (no DLC) without any issues.
The game works now for me now too without needing any launch options, so I'm closing this issue :tada:

Out of the box game crashes on launch with a window saying "Fatal Error!".
Launching the game with launch option "-onethread" the game appears to work perfectly. Solid 60fps+ performance and also Nintendo Switch Pro controller worked.
