This one crashes quite soon after trying to start with Proton 7.0 and Mesa 21.3.5.

I have the same issue with going to full screen with Proton: 1603141982 proton-5.0-10b as AwesamLinux. The game is playable otherwise but it crashes with newer versions of Proton.

Hello @EpicureanGit, can you test which Proton version is the oldest that is showing the regression you mentioned? Please share a Proton log with the oldest affected Proton release series. Also, please copy your system information from Steam (Steam -> Help -> System Information) and put it in a gist, then include a link to the gist in this issue report.

I'm sorry to reply again! In my last reply I must have pressed buttons while loading the game with Proton: 1647272410 proton-5.13-6d and the game skipped a loading screen that causes the game to freeze. I went back to play the game and noticed it. This particular loading screen doesn't appear with proton-5.0-10b.

Apparently proton Experimental has improvements for this game?
Tested it out on my deck with Experimental and it seemed to get to the title mostly fine and gameplay seemed to be alright. I only really noticed that the game said I was p2, though when I got to the character select it said I was p1, so I dunno if it's a proton quirk or if its detecting a keyboard or something and setting that as p1 and probably only comes into play during multiplayer.
The only other issue I really noticed is that fmvs aren't playing properly. The staff roll credits works fine, but the intro fmv and all the arcade promo fmvs in the collection mode show the broken test bars. Dunno if the characters endings are effected or not though.

Symptoms
The actual gameplay works fine (both with KB&M and Nintendo Switch Pro controller). The problems are videos being skipped. Enabling AA results in no video, and enabling fullscreen makes the game stretch beyond screen space.

I spotted the line "8293.047:0028:0035:err:quartz:GetClassMediaFile Media class not found" in the log.
Appears to be another game that uses Quartz, codecs are: WMV, VC-1 + WMA

Reproduction
Problem: No Cinematics
Problem: No video/Black screen when selecting AA
Problem: Selecting fullscreen causes video to be stretched beyond the screen space
