System Information

  • GPU: RX VEGA 56
  • GPU Driver: 19.1.0+aco+git1566466462-fc0fdb637b4-1bionic1 (Valves PPA)
  • Kernel version: 5.2.9-050209-lowlatency
  • Distro version: Linux Mint 19.2 Tina (64 bit) (Cinnamon)
  • Proton version: 4.11-2

Retest Compatibility Report

Problem persists, game won't launch, same "Assertion Failed!" error message on launch.

With D9VK, there is no error message however nothing happens. In the d9vk log I did see this line that is maybe of interest:
81231.002:0027:0028:fixme:vulkan:X11DRV_vkCreateWin32SurfaceKHR Application requires child window rendering, which is not implemented yet!

System Information

  • GPU: AMD RX 5700
  • Driver/LLVM version: Mesa 23.1.2
  • Kernel version: 6.3.8-200.fc38.x86_64
  • Proton version: proton-8.0-3-rc1

Game no longer crashes with recent Proton versions, but there is no video just a black screen (you can hear that the game is running/playing music though)

To fix video not working one has to install d3dcompiler_46 using Proton tricks, with this command:
protontricks 366280 d3dcompiler_46

Including logs running the game without and with d3dcompiler_46 installed:
