Symptoms

With Proton Proton 4.2-9 game crashes after trying to start the game from the launcher, tried both fullscreen and windowed. This seems to be a regression.

With Proton 3.16-9 the game works fine in Windowed mode, but in fullscreen always starts minimized, and has to be brought up manually.

Including logs of all these scenarios.

Reproduction

Just try to start the game from the game's launcher

  • Kernel version: 5.2.5-050205-lowlatency
  • Distro version: Linux Mint 19.1 Tessa (64 bit) (Cinnamon Desktop)
  • Proton version: 4.11-1
  • System information: system_info.txt

As of Proton 4.11-1 game works perfectly with launch option PROTON_USE_D9VK. Fullscreen mode also works perfectly, no issues with game crashing or starting/getting minimized. (without D9VK the game starts now, but has the fullscreen getting minized issue).

Performance is also great. With D9VK I'm no longer seeing any issues with this game, good job! closing this issue :smile:
