Line of interest seems to be this one, Phyre's video player which is using mfplat:
108493.390:0029:002a:warn:debugstr:OutputDebugStringA "Error in function Phyre::PVideo::PVideoPlaybackWin32::open. Error code: 80004001\n"
Thanks, I found this yesterday as well and asked General Arcade (Developer porting the game) if they implement a skip for, what I assume is the intro video.
Edit: Well the mfplat workaround now seems to work in regards of the Phyre Videoplayer, but game still crashes.
