I'm gonna keeps this open but apparently is some problem with the online activation of the game with the square enix servers, the square enix servers think that I don't own the game for some reason, and I believe the game got in some way "disabled" (must be some DRM) because as it stand it is unusable because you cannot progress.
this is a problem with square enix online services the same stuff happens with windows, sorry bothering you valve devs, but I didn't know where to ask for help since the square enix staff was going to say that the game is not supported by steam play/proton. But I guess now I can tell them that the same stuff happens on windows.

Symptoms
Game saves are not working. Seems some sort of problem with the square enix online service, the game logs into the square enix account, but the leaderboard records like who jumps higher among friends and stuff like that is not working. At some point it used to work, maybe some square enix update broke something within proton, but now the game is unplayable because apart from the leaderboards, game saving is not working not even offline.
Reproduction
I don't know how to reproduce this, not sure if it is a bug, maybe I'm banned from square enix online services or maybe the game has detected that is running proton and disabled some stuff, because it seems to be some anticheat countermeasure because leaderboards are not working.
