Description:
There seems to be a regression with the newest Proton releases that causes graphical glitches in-game. Terrain is seemingly stretched vertically ad infinitum.

Works 100% correct with Proton version 4.2-9
Does not work with: 4.11*

Hello @screwylightbulb, please add PROTON_LOG=1 %command% to the game's launch options, reproduce the regression, and drag and drop the generated $HOME/steam-$APPID.log into the comment box. If Github doesn't like size of the log, you can try compressing it in an archive.

@screwylightbulb When you get the log, could you also take a screenshot of the graphical failure?

@screwylightbulb Can you record a capture with renderdoc please? Can you also upload a screenshot of how it should look ? Thanks

Sscrewylightbulb 2019-11-25 github

Sure, will be able to do tomorrow.

@screwylightbulb Any news?

Sscrewylightbulb 2019-12-15 github

@hakzsam Ok, I give up, how the heck do I use renderdoc with a Steam game? Or I guess more specifically, a Proton game run from Steam.

Hhakzsam 2019-12-16 github

You need to install renderdoc and to export ENABLE_VULKAN_RENDERDOC_CAPTURE=1 before starting Steam. To record a capture you have to press f12.

@hakzsam wow, these are huge... I tarballed 3 grabs, one broken (proton 4.10) and two using proton 4.9.2

Find it here: http://warpgate9.com/rd.tar.gz

Going to leave the file there only for a few days.

@screwylightbulb Are you sure you are running RADV? The renderdoc files have been captured with the AMD pro driver. Can you export DXVK_HUD=devinfo,fps,info before launching Steam and upload a screenshot?

Sscrewylightbulb 2019-12-20 github

I will check. It's not my machine, so things may have changed. I'll pop on there in a bit when my partner is out to see what's what. If she did install amd pro I'll ask if I can swap it out. Who knows, this might even have been the problem all along?

Hhakzsam 2019-12-20 github

Possibly, please report when you get a chance. Thanks!

Sscrewylightbulb 2019-12-20 github

@hakzsam Oh ffs, just tried using Proton 4.11-11 and the game seems to be working correctly. I also then purged the pro driver to make sure it wasn't running, and then tried the game again with 4.11-11 and it's still working correctly.

So, maybe we should close this for the moment?

Hhakzsam 2019-12-20 github

@kisak-valve Can you remove the mesa drivers label please? It seems to work correctly with RADV.

EDIT: nvm there is no such a label for that issue (I thought it was set).
