Apparently a regression, since older versions of Wine ran this game (https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=588).

Symptoms

Grey screen then crash

Reproduction

Hello @shoober420, in general Proton logs compress well in an archive. It may be worth checking if throwing it in one would bring it down to a size Github is happy with.

Great idea!

There's a lot of access violations (c0000005) happening which fills the majority of the log.

@kisak-valve

Is that a fault of mine or on Wine/Protons end?

It's unclear to me what's gone wrong here, but it does seem to be coming from 0x7bcae0e0.

I feel I must mention, I tried using MH's patch (http://download.kingpin.info/index.php?dir=kingpin/patches/unofficial/mh's_kingpin_patch/) to see if this would fix anything, and it still crashes after launch. I used "WINEDLLOVERRIDES=wsock32=n" to activate the patch.

I even tried QindieGL (https://github.com/crystice-softworks/QindieGL) out of desperation, but it still crashes. I used "WINEDLLOVERRIDES=opengl32=n" to active QindieGL.
