Symptoms

None of the in-game videos will play. (Causing the game to be unplayable past a certain point)

Reproduction

Play through the game to where Mr Tutorial talks about the last show going on for ages, the screen that is white should have a video containing credits. Continue playing and he should say that you should be receiving the video any second (or something like that). After that nothing happens since you never receive the video.

Hello @jcc10, looks like this game would benefit from support for Media Foundation maturing.

Seems to work fine after installing media foundations <Link removed by moderator>

Hello @netpro2k, the workaround you linked is legally problematic and has been removed.

Media Foundation issues aside, the game crashes after I start a new game or click continue, right after I hear the 'DAY 1' sound (the text itself doesn't show up on the screen).

Hello @RanAwaySuccessfully, the log hints that there may be an issue in the nVidia driver:

Backtrace:
=>0 0x00007f0652c76de6 _nv018glcore+0xffffffffffffffff() in libnvidia-glcore.so.435.21 (0x0000000000000000)

You may have luck testing a newer driver version.

Hello. Indeed, I waited until a new version of the drivers were available, and the upgrade from Version 435.21-0ubuntu0.18.04.2 to Version 440.59-0ubuntu0.18.04.1 fixed the crash. The game seems to be running fine, Media Foundation issues aside.

with Proton-5.9-GE-5-ST you can play the game for about 15 minutes everything works, but after that time the videos stops playing
