This title requires CSMT, at the very least, and maybe some major things from wine-staging, or at least some major optimizations to the graphics pipeline.

Adobe AIR at its finest.

Similar problem, it's getting slightly better with 3.7.5, at least now I can sort of move the character. But overall everything is lagging, effects not fully working, etc. I've tried lowering the settings, but still doesn't work.

Specs:

  • FX6300
  • RX470 Nitro 8GB
  • 8GB RAM.

Proton 3.7-5 Beta

All is fine and Xbox Controller work !
But need more fps

Kkode54 2018-09-05 github

I already said the frames per second is horrible with Proton, even with the latest 3.7-5 Beta. It runs 60fps or better with winehq-staging, which is now 3.15. Just wait until you get to the 3D parts, those are even worse.

I just tested now with Proton 3.7-6 Beta and like liberodark the game works but is a little laggy.
I'm not sure it can help, but I notice that the dxkv hud is not displayed same if it's activate in my user-setting.py

Kkode54 2018-09-09 github

I just tested Proton 3.7-6 Beta on my RX480 (stats linked above), and I'm level 20 and on the future world (3D) area, and it gets 1fps or worse on the world map. I can only play the game with winehq-staging.

E: FYI, it's using D3D9, and I tried ppa:commendsarnex/winedri3 and wine-d3d9-staging, and with Gallium Nine enabled on AMDGPU, the game is completely broken. So it looks like some D3D9 work is in order for everyone, not just Proton.

Incredipede (another adobe air game) warns about missing hardware acceleration. It seems adobe air games fall back to software rendering under proton, causing the performance issues.

Ddiegov 2019-08-03 github

https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35345 has been fixed in wine 4.13. I tested Incredipede and it now detects the graphics card correctly, so I assume that fixes other Adobe Air games like Evoland as well (Evoland is specifically mentioned in the patch)

Uunit73e 2019-08-03 github

@diegov I've been waiting for that one to be fixed for a while. Thanks for the info. The others I'm waiting to be fixed are related to Microsoft video formats that don't play.

Confirmed performance is fixed in Proton 5

Also confirmed that there are no controller issues anymore. I tested with Dualshock 4 controller, wireless mode, with Proton 5.0-3. I believe this game can be white listed.
