Hello @UnixJunkie, please add PROTON_LOG=1 %command% to the game's launch options and drag and drop the generated $HOME/steam-$APPID.log into the comment box. Also, please copy your system information from Steam (Steam -> Help -> System Information) and put it in a gist, then include a link to the gist in this issue report.
I just bought this game and run on Fedora 35, nvidia 470.94, and Proton 6.3-8c.
The game runs immediately without any tweak, simply enable steamplay, download, and play.
I tested for around 5 minutes in the test flight mission, I found no glitches, performance issue, or crashes.

having the same issue here, the game launches and loads to a black menu where you can hear the music, but nothing responds and you can't see anything
Strange because all other games work perfectly for me
i enabled proton logging via the cmd parameter, but can't find those logs anywhere

Driver: Mesa llvmpipe (LLVM 17.0.6, 256 bits) in your system information and llvmpipe hints that your NVIDIA 555 driver install is missing the video driver's 32 bit userspace libraries and Steam is being forced to fallthrough to llvmpipe to render at all. I'm guessing you got the NVIDIA driver from https://launchpad.net/~graphics-drivers/+archive/ubuntu/ppa/+packages, but forgot to add the libnvidia-gl-555:i386 system package.
@kisak-valve you are 100% correct, installing libnvidia-gl-555:i386 solved the problem
