Symptoms

The game starts up really slowly. When it eventually shows the main menu, the music starts playing. Everything runs at a speed of about 0.25fps and any input is ignored.

Not sure if an update of the game or an update of Proton fixed it, but when I tried to start the game again today it suddenly worked.

The only minor inconvenience is that it takes up to a minute for it to show the main menu on startup. But once that it's loaded it works without issues.
