The game crashes after loading a new game and showing the character creation screen.

There are also some font issues with overlapping letters like in some other games (Audiosurf for example).

Getting the exact same issue here as well

Tested this game again with Proton 3.16-4 and it's no longer crashing.

The text for weapon descriptions/stats was way too large in the intro mission, but it seems to be normal again now.

Only real issue I found so far was, that the second zoom level on sniper scopes is messed up.

System info is still the same as in issue description.

Upon further testing there seem to be some general scaling issues with this game.

Sometimes UI elements and text appear far too big and are sometimes even cut off.

Whitelist Request

System Information

Works great out of the box.

Hello, is anyone seeing an issue with this game and Proton 5.0 that would block it from being whitelisted?

Vvaleth 2020-02-17 github

Out of the box the game is mostly running alright.

There are occasional stutters with D9VK (which seem to be fixed by using ACO).

The issue with the scope is fixed with D9VK.
So only remaining issue I could see is that some fonts were not rendering correctly, most noticeable in the options menu. Not sure what causes this, but it's not game breaking.

@valeth
I noticed my fonts did that on first launch, when the in game resolution did not match the desktop resolution. Once I matched the in game resolution with my desktop resolution (2048x1536), the fonts rendered fine.

Vvaleth 2020-02-17 github

The game is already in native monitor resolution (1920x1080), but maybe it's getting confused because I have a second monitor.

Putting the game into windowed mode fixes some of the jank, but can come with some weird issues like rendering glitches or mouse pointer offset.

@kisak-valve
I'd like to report a problem with Proton 5.0 and E.Y.E. It is very specific, and I'm not sure why it happens: If you turn on your character's flashlight and try to use the second zoom-level of the Sniper scopes, the game instantly crashes. Same thing if you're already on the second zoom-level and turn on the flashlight.

This does not happen if you stay in the first zoom-level, or if you use the scopes on any of the other weapons. You can also avoid the problem by turning off the flashlight before you use the second-zoom level of the sniper scopes, but it's very easy to forget to do that. Any idea why this might happen?

I'm running the game with these launch options, so I assume D9VK is being used by default, correct?

Hello @physixcat, please add PROTON_LOG=1 %command% to the game's launch options, reproduce the crash, and drag and drop the generated $HOME/steam-$APPID.log into the comment box.

Thanks, can you also check if the crash happens with PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% in the game's launch options?

Pphysixcat 2020-03-29 github

Crash does not occur when using WineD3D, though performance seems to take a hit compared to D9VK.
