Reproduction

Proton log:

It seems to be working now but it has quite some annoying stutters / freezes jumping around the map that don't seem to be related to shader cache, i checked the folder and its not even creating any new files and if i go around those same places it keeps doing it no matter how many times i do it.

Only weird thing i see in the log are a bunch of errors but not sure if its related to this.

Just want to mention this here so it doesn't get lost in the middle of another issue.

On my end visually all looks good i just really need to play in offline mode to stop the stuttering but even then it crashes some times right away and others takes longer, i had a look at the log and i dont see anything obvious but i'm not that into this stuff.

Have a look

Been playing with the new re elected update and it actually worked outta the box and is wierd cause aparently theres quite some problems with it for people on windows but there was some issues that im not so sure if it's caused by proton or not.

So the camera is broken on some missions like the first one but it seems like they just broke something, there was a mission that i noticed that everything was really fast moving but after that one all seemed normal again, i can load the game from the main menu but not while ingame, same with saving and if i try to it will get stuck there, i haven't had any crashes so far in sp but coop it does quite a bit, sometimes i join a session that wont let me move my character for some reason but rejoining fixes it, sometimes the upgrade menu takes longer to load ~10-15sec.

Using proton experimental bleeding edge, it worked fine with 7.0-5 other than the epic overlay not showing.

Edit:

The crashes in coop seem to only happend when i have crossplay enabled, changing vsync insta crashes and now im sure that the game is actualy way faster than it should, last night i played a coop mission in a bike and i was clearly way faster than him, coop even just with steam matchmaking either is disconnecting after a while or they are crashing i'm not sure.

Tried to disable Esync and Fsync but no change.

Saints Row IV Controller Issue

Issue transferred from https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/8332.

Compatibility Report

  • Saints Row IV (main build and legacy build)
  • 206420
  • Proton version: Anything after 6.3

No Controller Support unless I use Proton 6.3

Not sure as to what changed but SRIV doesn't get modern Proton Support as the controller doesn't work in the game. Only KB+M. I have tried various controllers and the game will not use the inputs
