Compatibility Report

  • Name of Game: Dariusburst Chronicle Saviours
  • Steam AppID of the game: 377870

System Information

I confirm:

  • [x ] that I haven't found an existing compatibility report for this game.
  • [ x] that I have checked whether there are updates for my system available.

Symptoms

When running the game under Proton 5.13-1, the native monitor resolution is no longer one of the resolution choices in the launcher dropdown. The highest available resolution is 2560x1440 (instead of ultrawide 3440x1440). As best I can tell this is only happening under Wayland; I tried both Sway and Gnome-Wayland and this bug occurs. It DOES NOT occur under X11 (Gnome xorg and i3), so I assume it is some interaction with XWayland causing the issue.

It DOES NOT occur when using Proton 5.0-9. When using that version more resolution options are available, including the monitor native resolution.

I've made sure the primary monitor's XWAYLAND screen is flagged as primary. I've also tried with both the current XWayland release and a build from current git (since there were changes to how resolutions are presented, I think...)

Reproduction

Run the game, choose 'fullscreen' in the launcher, and look at the resolution list

@zakk4223 Thank you for the detailed report! That is extremely useful. Could you also get a log with +pid,+tid,+seh,+x11drv,+system,+x11settings,+fshack,+win added to the default logging options?

Please also upload a console output of "xrandr --verbose" log running in wayland session with native resolution. Also, is your display a tiled display (requires two display port cables)?

It is a single cable display.

I also tried disabling my other two displays, leaving only the primary 3440x1440 active. Issue was still present in that configuration.

I dont seem to have the problem with available resolutions mentioned above, but this absolutely won't work in dual screen mode. If you attempt it, it treats your main itor like its a dual and smashes both 'screens' into this.
