Hmmm, by some reason I can get it t work nicely with Proton 5.13 (Without cinematics) and with Proton-GE-5.9-ST-8 I get cinematics but no sound...

Try switching the winecfg of the prefix to Windows 7, I forgot to add this step.

That did the trick! Thanks a lot!

The crackling sound can be fixed with the PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 %command% launch parameter.

I lost controller functionality after making this change. Is there another step that may need applied?

I finished the game with the DualShock 4. No problem other than the game tips for keys showing the "Error" text, but just a visual bug.

I normally use Xbox 1 controller, but tested with my DS4 as well and same issue.

*Edit: Apparently the sound was sent to my controller(DS4) instead of my front panel. So the sound is working with the fix you've mentioned above, but the controller itself still does not work.

I lost my XB1 gamepad functionality over Bluetooth after the update that was applied today, yesterday it was working fine. After the update it looks like it is interpretating my commands as a dinput controller since some buttons worked (A and B) but not the X and Y, and the LB was behaving strangely. The gamepad worked fine while on cable though, and other gamers are still working correctly over Bluetooth.

Both controllers are cabled for me. Steam shows they are detected when Jack launches. It only happens when I change from Win10 to Win7 in the prefix.

Sometimes the game won't really detect my gamepad from the start, so I start navigating through the menus while spamming random buttons on my gamepad and suddendly the game starts picking them up, it's an option you can try.
