Reproduction

Just launch the game.
The game via WineD3D may not work.

Screen remains black on Proton 8.0. On 7.0 the logo plays and main menu is shown when pressing esc but 8.0 does not.

Mouse pointer handling seems to have issues as well (it isn't displayed or only moves within quit-box).

Currently using AMD Vega 56/64, kernel version 6.4.10, Mesa 23.1.4.

Just to update that game is now playable again with Proton 8.0-4 but there are some visual glitches remaining in some places. For example, quit-dialog has corner that is not filled ("damaged" areas) and is grey instead. Mouse cursor has some flicker over some parts ("hotspots") in the early dream sequence.

The glitches seem small though and it is possible to play the game.
