Hello @Vladimir-A, looks like this game would benefit from support for Media Foundation maturing.

VVladimir-A 2020-12-04 github

I tried to run with Proton-5.9-GE-5-ST, Proton-5.11-GE-3-MF, Proton-5.21-GE-1, but it does not any benefit.

BBriiMawler 2020-12-05 github

Using this guide I opted into the beta version which shows a debug console: https://steamcommunity.com/app/983970/discussions/1/2969524751701658445/

I got a bit more information about why the loading screen doesn't finish, and I believe it has to do with the game's opening movie:

I just bought this game. super excited to play, then proton of all versions and 3rd parties said NOPE. Used <workaround removed by moderator> and game works like a boss!

Hello @jcfrosty, the workaround you posted is legally problematic and has been removed.

Jjcfrosty 2020-12-19 github

Ok well, I've proven the fix and have tested the game which has shown it
works 100% I've you get past the media foundation issues. One nice
workaround could be if the developers add a flag to bypass the initial
video. Wine/proton needs to flesh out the media foundation stuff.

Also facing the same issue but in my case, I'm getting SMPTE color bars. I'm getting this issue in the scene before the menu, a couple scenes throughout the game, and I've been told that the issue happens as well in the ending scene.

Rrehtlaw 2022-02-16 github

I hope this is the place to put this.
With Proton 7.0-1, the intro video actually starts now instead of just displaying SMPTE bars, but it seems to be very stretched and looks like there's a bunch of pink bars going across the screen. Audio and (as far as I can tell) the rest of the game work just fine.

Getting the same issue, weird because I remember seeing this fixed a couple weeks ago and I was using proton 6.3-8.
Now it doesn't work with both 6.3-8 and 7. I'm also getting weird artifacts similar to @rehtlaw in 7.

I experienced the same issue on power rangers battle for the grid and resolved it with PROTON_DO_NOT_CREATE_DXGI_DEVICE_MANAGER=1

Can you try launching the game with these launch options:

PROTON_DO_NOT_CREATE_DXGI_DEVICE_MANAGER=1 %command%

yep, the intro video plays just fine with that launch option

Any idea why this might be happening? I swear the videos were working great on default proton experimental when I tested it around a month ago? It's also deck verified :(

Rrehtlaw 2022-02-23 github

Can't say it ever worked for me, although I also didn't test it at all really in the past few months, and when I did recently, I also only got those test signal bars. And on 7.0 it only worked with that launch option.

I have this glitch on Steam Deck as well, latest stable firmware and client.

How is that a verified game when it's literally a glitch when you open the game!? So please adjust the status until it's fixed.

Worse this checkmark informed my purchasing decision.

Btw how it's supposed to look like

I guess it got verified because previously it would just skip the intro after 2 seconds of getting a no signal screen. Why that was enough for them to verify it idk, but i guess the game itself does work just fine.

PROTON_DO_NOT_CREATE_DXGI_DEVICE_MANAGER=1 works for 7.0-1 but not experimental here

It was changed to WINE_DO_NOT_CREATE_DXGI_DEVICE_MANAGER

As noted in the comments above, you need WINE_DO_NOT_CREATE_DXGI_DEVICE_MANAGER=1

Ah. Thank you.
WINE_DO_NOT_CREATE_DXGI_DEVICE_MANAGER=1 %command%
sadly did not fix the issue on Deck.... Again why Valve (please forward this @ivyl ) are you selling me this as a "Verified" experience though?

Oh come on now that's a rather pedantic argument. The game fits all of the Steam Deck Verified criteria:

Haven

Tested on Feb 2nd, 2022 (19:00 UTC)

-All functionality is accessible when using the default controller configuration
-This game shows Steam Deck controller icons
-In-game interface text is legible on Steam Deck
-This game's default graphics configuration performs well on Steam Deck

None of that criteria involves in-game cinematics. The game is fully playable. Furthermore WINE_DO_NOT_CREATE_DXGI_DEVICE_MANAGER=1 %command% -does- work using Proton Experimental. I just tested it.

This is fixed with yesterday's experimental and it works for me on the Deck. Also no need for the environment variable. Here's the commit: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/commit/f811f740aca76f10d730b880a74e85b679cbf1ca.

same for me  . basically no issue anymore except minor stutters when sliding around (perhaps a Unity + scripting thing and not Proton?)

I guess this issue could be closed then if that's how it works in this repo?
