Symptoms

The game "RiME" works fine with proton, but "Crying Suns" doesn't.
The game just can't be started. Clicking the buttom "Start the game" is useless.
There is no "$HOME/steam-$APPID.log" file in ".var/app/com.valvesoftware.Steam/
".
I use the steam client installed from flatpak.

Reproduction

Yyangzq50 2020-12-08 github

If I switch to use the proton installed from flatpak (Proton 5.13-2 (community build 1606320612)), I get the "$HOME/steam-$APPID.log" file in ".var/app/com.valvesoftware.Steam/".

I suppose my proton is broken. It seems that all games can't work with proton.
