Adding my two cents, I have played this game on R7 2700X and R9 280X, Manjaro Linux with 86% completion rate several months ago.

There is a regression between Proton 6.3-8 and Proton 7.0-1

This is main menu using Proton 6.3-8:
20220307214536_1

and main menu (?) using Proton 7.0-1:
20220307213929_1

The other time this happened is when I try to run DQXI S on my virtualized SteamOS 3 with RX 570 passthrough...

System Information

GPU: RX 6700 XT
Distro version: Arch Linux

EDIT: I have confirmed that this problem affects multiple games on my host Arch Linux PC, moving this to https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/5655

Hello @minecraft2048, please add PROTON_LOG=1 %command% to the game's launch options and attach the generated $HOME/steam-$APPID.log to this issue report as a file. (Proton logs compress well if needed.) Also, please copy your system information from Steam (Steam -> Help -> System Information) and put it in a gist, then include a link to the gist in this issue report.
