Having a persistent problem. The game runs fine in most modes except when location would need to be accessed, in which case it crashes pretty much instantly. This occurs whenever it tries to load the map, including Demon Encounter, Area Boss, and after exiting Netherworld.

I'm running Proton 8.0-4c but this problem also occurs in Proton Experimental and Proton 7.0. I'm running Arch Linux (endeavorOS). I'm using a intel corporation tigerlake-lp gt2 GPU but am fairly sure this is not a GPU problem.
Just like @drkthomp, exact same issue where the game would crash on Demon Encouter/Area Boss/Netherworld map, clearly probably due to the game trying to access location.
Doesn't work on Proton 10, Proton Experimental, GE Proton. Using Fedora KDE, Nvidia GPU, and also very sure it's unrelated to the GPU/drivers
Apparently, I was told that @Etaash-mathamsetty likes this kind of niche challenges
Small update! Proton 11 fixes the issue and the game no longer crashes in modes/maps that access locations!
Pinging @drkthomp in case you're still playing to upgrade to proton 11
Since there isn't anymore noticeable bugs in the apps it perhaps should be marked as resolved/closed?

Been running it last couple of weeks on most wine versions without issues, it's the same with proton :)
well aside from font losing aliasing in team chat or when hitting ctrl+a, but it's minor issue dunno if it doesn't happen in win build.
