Symptoms

• Game is very slow given the system specs.
• After using alt+tab then coming back to the game, game appears frozen, but some audio can still be heard.

As a minor detail, the game "launcher" appears like it's missing some assets:

I tried proton 5.13-5, proton experimental, proton 5.0-10. On proton 5.0-10, at least, alt-tab does not lead to game freeze.

Reproduction

• Run the game
• Start new game or load save
• Observe extremely slow character movement, reaction to clicks.
