Does native version has the same issue?
Does native version has the same issue?
I don't encounter this issue in the feral-cat native version.
(I prefer to play on the windows-proton version because its performance much better than the native version)
I know this could potentially be old news but does anyone have issues with no mouse cursor even at the starting menu when using any proton version? I'm using Manjaro XFCE.
Sadly does not start with Proton 9 or experimental, looking at the steam logs I only see this
I'm using an AMD RX 7800 xt card
Setting breakpad minidump AppID = 779340
Steam_SetMinidumpSteamID: Caching Steam ID: 76561198149193970 [API loaded no]
pid 96556 != 96555, skipping destruction (fork without exec?)
The native version sadly has some bugs with auto resolve and large campaigns, thats why I was trying proton.
With proton 8 it works
@raaffaaeell Hi there
Could you attach a full Proton log?
@raaffaaeell Hi there Could you attach a full Proton log?
Here you go, I was going to work on it today
@raaffaaeell It turns out, the version of Proton GE you were using was behind current shipped Proton, and the regression you found is already fixed in both 9.0-beta and 9.0-experimental. There was a further regression in experimental, but that is fixed in bleeding-edge. Please let us know if you hit any further regressions (with mainline Proton) :)
@alasky17 you are right, that was my bad, but in fairness, I tried all the Proton 9 versions I had, sorry for the confusion.
Bleeding edge indeed worked but I dont like using that one because of frequent updates.
The only thing I noticed, when in campaign, when accessing the menu (esc) the mouse lags a lot, but it seems to happen in version 8 too nowadays (I tested with the newest version there too)
Thanks for the quick response, I'll wait for the fix in the mainline versions
@raaffaaeell Thank you for confirming the fix! Nice to know we don't have multiple issues floating about :). The fix for the crash further in is now in non-bleeding-edge experimental. For what it is worth, the crash on launch is also fixed in 9.0-beta. Right now both are updating ~1x week while we are in the beta period, which hopefully isn't too frequent to be usable :)
Nothing extracted yet.
